Waste water is the water that emerges after fresh water is used by human beings for domestic, commercial and industrial use. Water used to flush toilets to evacuate human excreta is called “Black Water” or Sewage.

Why treat Wastewater ?

Discharging untreated sewage into any drains other than an underground sewerage system, or into open land, if goes unchecked, pollutes fresh water from lakes, rivers and the ground water table, and hence it must be treated. Sewage must necessarily be treated correctly and then re-used/re-cycled for various uses.

How do I know if my drains  are blocked

If your drain is blocked you will usually know because your waste will stop going away when you flush the toilet, or gullies outside will overflow. There will also probably be a smell around drains. If your neighbours are also affected it is likely that there is a problem on the sewer.

Responsibility for the clearance of blockages and repairs usually lies with the property owner.  You need to empty the overloaded septic tank. You can get the service of a gully bowser by calling to relevant office. Alternatively, there are private gully bowser providers too.
